Were so proud to introduce Maxwell Beckam Mize!!
Born: May 4, 2010 at 2:07 pm
Weight: 8 lbs, 10 oz
Length: 20 inches
I can honestly say that my lifes purpose has been fufilled! I am absolutely in love with this little guy and there are truly no words that can describe the feelings of joy, pride and constant happiness he brings!
Maxwells birthday started with Garry and I going to the hospital. I was scheduled to be induced at 7:00 am on Tuesday morning. We got to the hospital on Monday night and I was nervous, scared and beyond excited for the day to finally be here. At 6:00 am on Tuesday morning I had only dilated to a one so I was getting pretty nervous that this was going to be a really long day! The nurse decided to start the patosin then. The nursing staff at Baylor Frisco was amazing and I instantly felt a bond with each and every nurse who was there to help us. They were all so caring and friendly. When my doctor arrived at 8:30 am, she checked me and I was moving forward and had dilated to a 3. I got my epidural then and by 11:00 I had dilated to an 8! Now, I was getting really excited!! When my doctor came back in at 1:00, I was fully dilated and we were ready to go!!! She told me to just relax and take a quick nap as I was about to do some serious work. My family left the room and it was just Garry and I for the next hour. I knew I was ready and both Garry and I were so excited to meet our new son. When our doctor came back in at 1:55, I started pushing. This next 13 minutes were the most difficult and rewarding time I can think of ever experiencing. I have to say that overall the whole labor experience was much easier than I had imagined. I pictured the experience being complete chaos but really, it was pretty darn easy! 9 pushes and our little guy was here! The minute I laid eyes on him, I knew I would be in love forever. For 9 months I anticipated this moment. He was exactly as I dreamed he would be. Healthy and absolutely gorgeous. These next few moments I spent with Garry and Maxwell were truly blissful. Both of us were so ecstatic that God blessed us with such a perfect little boy. I can truly say it was the BEST day of my life and I would go through it all a million times over if I could!!
Here he is!!! Isn's this picture just precious?? He does this with his little hands ALL the time.. love it!
Up close and personal...I could stare at this kid all day long! Beautiful!
