Fall is right around the corner!!!

I am anxiously awaiting the official start of my favorite season! Fall will grace us all with her warm colors, cool, crisp nights and beautiful scenery September 22nd!

In honor of this fabulous time of year, I am sharing a Top 10 Fall destination blog! I love to blog...I love to travel...I love Fall...enough said!!

Fall destination #10: Philadelphia

Red, orange and brown leaves make the entire city beautiful to stroll through, and at the National Constitution Center, a major exhibition honoring Princess Diana kicks off October 2nd. Plus, with airfares down 13% and hotels down 15% from a year ago, what's not to love about the City of Brotherly Love??

Fall destination #9: Puerto Vallarta

The best time of year to visit Puerto Vallarta starts in October, when the summer rains fade away but the weather remains temperate. And unlike other parts of Mexico, there's little chance of a fall hurricane striking, thanks to natural barriers and favorable wind patterns!

Fall destination #8: Rome

Fall is gloriously pleasant in the Eternal City. Locals have a love affair with what they call ottobrate romane, which roughly translates to "Rome's beautiful October days." Fall in Rome is also a gourmet's delight! Besides the wine and olive harvests, fresh truffles take center stage at food festivals and in a wealth of special mushroom-centered restaurant dishes.

Fall destination #7: Smoky Mountains

The mountains and the national park named after them present a cornucopia of autumn glory. The fall color marches down the mountains as the season progresses, and several scenic roads and trails show off the colorful red maples, scarlet oaks, sweetgums and hickories! Fly into Charlotte, NC and you're there in no time!

No place is more strongly associated with fall colors than New England. As you wind through the country roads of this densely tree populated state, you can catch glimpses of moose and other wildlife. This is also an AWESOME area for antiquing!

And drum roll please...

Fall destination #1: New York City!!!!!

When I was little, my Dad and I would travel to New York City every Sunday to get the Dallas Morning News. Even in the 4th grade, the hustle and bustle of the city was fascinating to me. I loved to watch all the people and talk to all the strangers I could. A little side note...I also loved to give money to bums. I would hang $1 bills out the window and the bums would chase the car! Ha! I swear it's not as bad as it sounds! Anyway, I can't wait to go back and experience it all as an adult!

30 Day Challenge - Day 5 - Your Favorite Quote

It is not length of life, but depth of life.

30 Day Challenge - Day 4 - Your Favorite Book

I usually read about a book a week so narrowing down my focus to pick just one favorite is nearly impossible but The Shack has stood out in my mind as one of the best books I have ever read.

The story revolves around Mack Phillips, a man whose lost his daughter. She was brutally murdered by a serial killer and evidence was left in a shack in the woods. Mack has not only blamed God but completely turned his back on him. Mack has been living in a great sadness when he finds a note in his mailbox to come and meet God in the shack where his daughters clothes were found. The rest of the book outlines Mack's experience in the shack where he meets the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I don't want to ruin anything for anybody wanting to read this but I will say that the rest of the book and Mack's experience in the Shack was truly inspiring.
