Fall is right around the corner!!!

I am anxiously awaiting the official start of my favorite season! Fall will grace us all with her warm colors, cool, crisp nights and beautiful scenery September 22nd!

In honor of this fabulous time of year, I am sharing a Top 10 Fall destination blog! I love to blog...I love to travel...I love Fall...enough said!!

Fall destination #10: Philadelphia

Red, orange and brown leaves make the entire city beautiful to stroll through, and at the National Constitution Center, a major exhibition honoring Princess Diana kicks off October 2nd. Plus, with airfares down 13% and hotels down 15% from a year ago, what's not to love about the City of Brotherly Love??

Fall destination #9: Puerto Vallarta

The best time of year to visit Puerto Vallarta starts in October, when the summer rains fade away but the weather remains temperate. And unlike other parts of Mexico, there's little chance of a fall hurricane striking, thanks to natural barriers and favorable wind patterns!

Fall destination #8: Rome

Fall is gloriously pleasant in the Eternal City. Locals have a love affair with what they call ottobrate romane, which roughly translates to "Rome's beautiful October days." Fall in Rome is also a gourmet's delight! Besides the wine and olive harvests, fresh truffles take center stage at food festivals and in a wealth of special mushroom-centered restaurant dishes.

Fall destination #7: Smoky Mountains

The mountains and the national park named after them present a cornucopia of autumn glory. The fall color marches down the mountains as the season progresses, and several scenic roads and trails show off the colorful red maples, scarlet oaks, sweetgums and hickories! Fly into Charlotte, NC and you're there in no time!

Fall destination #4: Napa & Sonoma

Fall is harvest time in wine country. Many vineyards have wine stomping, cooking classes, wine tastings and many more awesome activities! Spend the weekend in San Fransisco, then head up to wine country for the week.

Fall destination #3: Maui

The island comes alive October through November! The weather is gorgeous and the culture heats up in the Fall with the Festival of Aloha!

Fall destination #2: Maine

No place is more strongly associated with fall colors than New England. As you wind through the country roads of this densely tree populated state, you can catch glimpses of moose and other wildlife. This is also an AWESOME area for antiquing!

And drum roll please...

Fall destination #1: New York City!!!!!

When I was little, my Dad and I would travel to New York City every Sunday to get the Dallas Morning News. Even in the 4th grade, the hustle and bustle of the city was fascinating to me. I loved to watch all the people and talk to all the strangers I could. A little side note...I also loved to give money to bums. I would hang $1 bills out the window and the bums would chase the car! Ha! I swear it's not as bad as it sounds! Anyway, I can't wait to go back and experience it all as an adult!

30 Day Challenge - Day 9 - A Photo You Took

A few photos that I took from our trip to Seattle...

30 Day Challenge - Day 8 - A Photo That Makes You Angry or Sad

This photo is so sweet but I get a little sad when I look at photos of my Mom and Max because I wish we lived closer to my family!

30 Day Challenge - Day 7 - A Photo That Makes You Happy

He is sooooooooo sweet! Makes me happy everyday!

30 Day Challenge - Day 6 - Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

I am soooooooo behind on the blogger challenge!! I have been busy, busy, busy!! But I'm getting back on track so here we go!

I spent Labor Day in Guthrie, Oklahoma attending my sister in laws wedding! Loved it! We had such a great time visiting with family, playing games, and having some major down time! So love and family are tickling my fancy right about now...

The wedding party...a good looking crowd!
Our little fam.
Max sporting his tux and loving the attention!
What a cute pair! Max was a little worn out after all the weekend festivities!

The happy couple!!
Didn't Amanda look GORGEOUS??!!!

30 Day Challenge - Day 5 - Your Favorite Quote

It is not length of life, but depth of life.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

30 Day Challenge - Day 4 - Your Favorite Book

I usually read about a book a week so narrowing down my focus to pick just one favorite is nearly impossible but The Shack has stood out in my mind as one of the best books I have ever read.

The story revolves around Mack Phillips, a man whose lost his daughter. She was brutally murdered by a serial killer and evidence was left in a shack in the woods. Mack has not only blamed God but completely turned his back on him. Mack has been living in a great sadness when he finds a note in his mailbox to come and meet God in the shack where his daughters clothes were found. The rest of the book outlines Mack's experience in the shack where he meets the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I don't want to ruin anything for anybody wanting to read this but I will say that the rest of the book and Mack's experience in the Shack was truly inspiring.

30 Day Challenge - Day 3 - Your Favorite TV Show

Ironically, before I started this challenge, I blogged about my favorite TV shows...I' obsessed with trashy TV!!!

A few of my absolute favorites are The Office, Glee, Sex and the City...seriously, this list could go on forever! If you want to see the whole list. click here!

30 Day Challenge - Day 2 - Your Favorite Movie

These challenges are so hard because I always have the hardest time deciding which movie/book/song, etc... to choose! However, V For Vendetta is one of my all time favorite movies.

This futuristic tale unfolds in Great Britain which is now a fascist state. A freedom fighter known as V uses terrorist tactics to fight the oppressive society. He rescues a young woman from the secret police, and she becomes his unlikely partner in crime.

Adapted from David Lloyd's graphic novel of the same name, "V for Vendetta" tells the story of Evey Hammond and her instrumental part in bringing down the fascist government that has taken control of a futuristic Great Britain.

Natalie Portman is AWESOME in this movie. I think the reason I like it s much is there's a little bit of everything in it. Love, drama, action, suspense, if you haven't seen it, watch it soon!

30 Day Challenge - Day 1 - Your Favorite Song

I have sooooooooooooo many favorite songs so I am going to do my best by narrowing it down to a very short list...

Like so many, some of my favorite songs remind me of great memories in my life and these few songs remind me of some really great memories.

Michael Jackson - Man in the Mirror...I just really love this song...not sure why!

John Mayer - Gravity...when I met my husband Garry, we would listen to this song over and over and over (as I write this, I am well aware of how corny it sounds!!!) but we spent countless hours getting to know each other and talking about our faith, goals, dreams, and each time I hear this song, it reminds me of how special our relationship is! We also played it at our wedding and that was truly one of the best days of my life!

Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar on Me...In my younger years, (now that I am the ripe old age of 30 I feel like I can reflect on my "younger years") I would go to Russel's (an Oklahoma City must for anyone unaware of how cool a hotel bar can really be!!!) and dance the night away with some of the best friends in the world!! This song was a must-have to complete the experience!!

30 Day Challenge!

Soooooo...I am following in the footsteps of all my blog favorites (Sizzlin's Savages, O So Fab O'Reillys) and doing the 30 day blog challenge. I have started back to work after a 3 month maternity leave and let me just tell you...it ain't been easy. Not only do I miss my little main squeeze Maxwell but frankly I miss my daily routine of doing whatever the heck I wanted to do for a solid 3 months! Being able to spend so much time with Maxwell has been the happiest time of my life! I miss him to death during the day and keep looking over my shoulder waiting for him to need something from me. It is so weird. I am keeping my eye on the silver lining though and looking forward to vacations, a college education for Max, cable TV, dinners out, etc...that my salary will help provide!! I know in my heart that if I am supposed to be home with him, God will provide a way! So with that, I am hoping the 30 day challenge will help me blog about something other than how sad I feel about leaving my mini mr. mize!
